Wittenberg University (Springfield, Ohio) launched its most ambitious capital campaign, Having Light, in March 2021. The university needed a campaign website that would both inspire donors and reflect the energy and vision behind this historic initiative.

We were delighted to collaborate with E&A Co., who provided the design and content strategy for this stunning project. Our role at Design TLC was to bring their creative vision to life online, building a custom site that was flexible, functional, and easy for the university team to manage.

Our work on this website was recognized with a Platinum Hermes Creative Award in May, 2021!

Objective

Design TLC was tasked with developing a custom website that:

  • Captured the bold look and feel of the Having Light campaign as envisioned by E&A Co.
  • Supported rich storytelling, especially through a Stories section that staff could easily expand and update over time.
  • Functioned smoothly across devices and browsers, ensuring donors and alumni could engage from anywhere.
  • Delivered performance and accessibility standards to maximize impact.

Approach

Partnership with E&A Co.
We worked closely with E&A Co. to implement their design and content direction, ensuring the final site reflected both the campaign’s branding and the school’s traditions.

Custom Development
We built the site with custom functionality, particularly in the Stories section, where Wittenberg staff can add content seamlessly without needing advanced technical expertise.

Performance & Testing
Attention was given to responsiveness, speed, and accessibility, ensuring the site not only looked stunning but also performed flawlessly.

Outcome

The Having Light campaign site:
