New website for Aspire Afterschool

We were honored and happy to create a new website for the Aspire Afterschool Learning program. This Arlington nonprofit organization makes a difference in the lives of so many children in Arlington, Virginia. A reading-based program, Aspire focuses on the opportunity to help students read on grade level so that they are able to keep up with academic content and stay on track to graduate from high school.

New, Mobile-Friendly WordPress Website

The former Aspire website was out of date and was not mobile-responsive. It was built with a proprietary website builder, which was limited in design options and was hard to use.

We built the new website with WordPress, which allows Aspire to more easily edit the website on the back-end, and to include enhanced functionality for news posts, event listings and more.

We connected the website to the existing Bloomerang Donationa software and we used Zapier to connect it to their donor database as well.

Homepage Redesign

The new Aspire website features clear calls to action as well as compelling information about Aspire’s mission and impact. These messages are important to communicate on a nonprofit website, in order to make it easy for website visitors to learn more about the organization and inspire them to donate or volunteer.

We also added the GTranslate plugin to make the website easier for non-English speakers to get information to enroll their children in the program.

Website Instructions for Easy Management

We conducted a training session with the Aspire communications team and added website instructions to the back end of the website to make it easy for them to add new events and blog posts, images and updates to page content. We look forward to seeing more engagement and support for this important organization and we are happy to be a part of the team that is helping children learn to read and succeed.
